The most popular Betta fish are Siamese Fighting they can grow to an average length of two and a quarter inches in captivity. They are classified as Gourami and part of the Osphronemidae family of fresh water fish.
Another reason why many owners find them remarkable is the fish’s ability to develop its own personality. Both genders display fascinating behaviors. For example, some are able to jump out of water to catch food and although males are usually aggressive and very territorial – some of them can be quite docile.

Betta Fish Breeding Tips
Bettas breed differently to other types of fish. A male “courts” a female by creating a bubble-nest on the leaves of plants so that the female can spawn. These eggs will then be fertilized by the male Betta.
If you plan to breed them, the optimal time is when they are between 6 and 12 months old. This process can be done at home with a simple 10 gallon fish tank and a breeding pair. The tank should have a heater and filter. Along with this, The water should have a 7. pH and the temperature should be around 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Firstly, you need to put the female in the same tank with the male, but with a barrier between them. After a short while, her color pattern will change (vertical markings on her sides) which signifies that she is ready to breed. She will secrete a hormone into the water to indicate to the male that she is a female and is ready to breed. After spawning, you should remove the female immediately from the tank so that t the male is left to tend to the eggs otherwise the female may be attacked.
